Historic Ray Stadium
For generations, Historic Ray Stadium has been more than a football field. It has been the heartbeat of Meridian Public School District athletics and a gathering place where tradition, pride, and community come together under the Friday night lights on Charles A. Armstrong Field.
Since opening in 1937, Ray Stadium has served as the home of the Meridian High School Wildcats, hosting unforgettable victories, championship-caliber performances, community celebrations, and countless memories that have shaped generations of students and families. From legendary athletes and coaches to devoted fans filling the stands each fall, the stadium stands as a symbol of excellence and Wildcat pride.
Today, Historic Ray Stadium is one of the largest on-campus high school stadiums in Mississippi and serves as a premier venue for a variety of athletic events. In addition to Meridian High School football, the stadium proudly hosts soccer matches and cross country competitions, providing student-athletes with a first-class facility to compete and represent their schools. With its state-of-the-art artificial turf playing surface, enhanced amenities, and welcoming atmosphere, Ray Stadium continues to set the standard for athletic excellence while honoring its rich tradition.

The Cats' Den
The Cats' Den is the home of Meridian High School boys basketball, girls basketball, and Lady Wildcats volleyball, where championship aspirations, school pride, and unforgettable moments come to life. From thrilling buzzer-beaters and packed rivalry games to electrifying volleyball matches, the Cats' Den has long been a gathering place for Wildcat Nation to cheer on Meridian's student-athletes.
For generations, the facility has welcomed Wildcats to compete at the highest level, serving as the backdrop for district championships, playoff battles, milestone victories, and countless memories shared by athletes, coaches, students, alumni, and fans.
In recent years, the Cats' Den has undergone significant renovations to enhance the experience for both athletes and spectators. Improvements include a beautiful new hardwood gym floor, energy-efficient LED lighting, and a modern air conditioning system, creating a comfortable, state-of-the-art environment for competition and community events.
Whether you're attending a Meridian High School boys or girls basketball game, supporting the Lady Wildcats volleyball team, or celebrating a special school event, the Cats' Den is where tradition meets excellence and Wildcat pride echoes throughout every contest. MHS Baseball/Softball Complex
Opening in February 2026, the MHS Baseball Softball Complex, welcomed Wildcat Baseball back to campus for the first time in over 50 years. It also marked the first time the Lady Wildcat Softball team has ever played games on the campus of MHS.
The facility boasts the unique distinction of being one of the only dual sport field of its kind in the state of Mississippi. Because the field is completely turf - the transition from baseball to softball only takes around thirty minutes to complete. Other amenities at the complex include restroom, a concession stand, stat of the art press box, and LED lights that can be programmed for special celebrations after Wildcat and Lady Wildcat victories.
The construction of the facility was made possible during to the Bond Issue that was passed by the citizens of Meridian in August 2022.
MHS Tennis Complex
Located on the campus of Meridian High School, the MHS Tennis Facility provides a dedicated home for the Wildcats tennis program and serves as a place where student-athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and compete at a high level.
The facility represents the commitment of Meridian Public School District to providing students with opportunities to participate in competitive athletics while creating spaces that support teamwork, discipline, and excellence.
MHS Strength and Conditioning Facilities
The MHS Weight Room serves as the foundation for strength and conditioning for Meridian High School student-athletes, providing a modern training environment designed to help Wildcats reach their full potential. In 2024, the facility underwent significant renovations, creating upgraded spaces for both the boys’ and girls’ weight programs.
The renovated facility includes more than 5,600 square feet of workout space and features updated equipment, flooring, and training areas designed to support student-athletes across all sports. The improvements provide opportunities for Wildcats to train together, build strength, and develop the discipline needed to compete at the highest levels.
The addition of dedicated boys’ and girls’ weight rooms reflects Meridian Public School District’s commitment to providing equitable opportunities and first-class facilities for all student-athletes. The space allows teams to focus on strength development, injury prevention, and overall athletic performance while creating an environment centered on teamwork and accountability.
