Lady Wildcats claim comeback win over Brandon
The Lady Wildcats rallied late to claim a 44-41 victory over the visiting Brandon Bulldogs on Thursday, January 9, 2025. MHS improved to 10-8 overall and 3-1 in district play.
Sophomore guard Aaliyah Taylor paced the Lady ‘Cats with 12 points scored. Junior Kimora Hughes followed with 11 points, while Skylar Davis and BaLeigh Hedgemon had six points each. Hedgemon made a late three to put the Lady ‘Cats up for good. Other scorers for MHS were Jahz’Mir Pearson with 5 points, Makiyah Griffin with 2 points and Shaniyah Eason with 2 points.

The Wildcats came up short in a 57-52 loss to Brandon on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Sophomore Demontae Powe led MHS with 4 points scored and Joe Horn contributed 13 points. The Wildcats fell 8-8 on the season and 2-2 in district play. The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, when they host Northwest Rankin.
