Four Wildcat Basketball stars to play at next level

It was a great day to be a MHS Wildcat as four members of the 2024 7A State Championship MHS Boys’ Basketball Team signed to continue their academic and playing careers at the next level.

Family and friends watched as these young men announced where they would play next year during a ceremony held at the Meridian High School Multipurpose Building on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Jordan Harbour and JR Yarbrough will continue their academic and athletic careers at Pearl River Community College, Jordan Jones will continue at East Mississippi Community College, and D.J. Johnson will play in Meridian at Meridian Community College.

Jordan Harbour averaged 6 points a game for the Wildcats during his senior year.

JR Yarbrough averaged 15 points and 4 assists for the year.

DJ Johnson averaged 14 points a game and made 67 3-point shots for the season.

Congratulations and good luck to these young men who were an integral part of the Wildcats’ run to the 7A State Championship.
