The Meridian High Wildcats became the first MHSAA Boys’ 7A State Basketball champions with a thrilling 54-50 win over the Clinton Arrows on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Mississippi Coliseum.

First-year head coach Shelton Gandy and the Wildcats welcome the Panthers to a new look Ray Stadium in a matchup against his old team. Coach Gandy was the Panthers' offensive coordinator for the previous two seasons

Boy's Basketball Championships
The MHS Basketball team won the the first 7A State Championship in 2024 and its first State Championship since 2017.

The MHS Football team has won three state championships in 1985, 1990, and 2008.

Girls' Basketball State Championships
The Lady Wildcats won their only 6A State Championship in 2022 with a victory over Harrison Central.
